Jacksonville, FL (August 1, 2014) – Ascension Worship has launched their “City Worship Project” to bring fresh, new worship songs “from the church, to the church.” The quickly growing National movement based in Florida, with hubs also in North Carolina, Alabama, Illinois, Arizona and Texas, currently stands over 400 members strong. Started in 2006, Ascension grew out of a common desire to be a worship resource for the local church.
Songwriter, have you ever asked yourself, “Could my song have a greater impact on the larger church?” The City Worship Project’s four-step process – Create, Submit, Access, & Reach – will help determine that, and give it the potential platform to make it happen!
From the official site: “The City Worship Project is all about allowing broad access to the music people like you are writing. There are songs being written in churches everywhere birthed out of the experiences God is taking us through. These are songs relevant to all people but usually not being heard beyond the walls of the church they’re written in. We developed the City Worship Project as a way to change that. We want to see these songs used outside of just one church. We want to see those songs used in churches around the world.”
If you’re a worship songwriter serving the local church, and have a song that is serving your congregation well, be encouraged to visit the City Worship Project.
