Ableton Live - I just made the plunge

    Hey Stephen,
    Well, it's a little more than an audio recording program. It's an audio looping/arranging program. In other words, you can create scenes or segments (ie. Verse, Chorus, Bridge) and make them "loop" or "repeat" according to how you want to play it. Plus, it's multi-track audio, so if you have all the various instruments recorded separately, you can mute the ones you don't need.

    Ever showed up to find out your bass player is not available - if you can swing with Ableton, you can play the bass line out of Ableton.

    And unlike singing to traditional backing trax where you are required to follow the trax, Ableton follows you.

    The Chorus is kicking, and you want to sing it through again - just reach over and press the hotkey for the Chorus and it will repeat, right in time.

    There are tons of other advantages ... it's very cool, check it out.
