  • Bless the Lord (Psalm 103)

    Based on Psalm 103...

    Lyrics:

    The Lord forgives iniquity
He heals all of our disease
    Redeems our lives from misery
and crowns us with love and with mercy

    He shows compassion to us
He knows our frame: that we are dust
Our days are short and quickly past
But His love is from everlasting

    Chorus:
Bless the Lord O my soul
And let all within bless His holy name
Bless the Lord O my soul
And never forget all His benefits

The Lord is gracious and merciful
His anger is slow, and love bountiful
He will not always accuse us all
    Nor harbour his anger forever

    He has taken our sin
    Far away, far away
As far as east is from west
    Far away, far away

Rich, I like this a lot. Great use of scripture, easy to follow, good variety that creates mood.
    Thanks for sharing.

great song! my only thought is, you could tweak the lyrics (the verses and bridge specifically) so that you would be singing straight to God instead of merely singing about Him... this is really nice as is though...

Thanks guys... Good suggestion baliad - I stuck with this perspective as it's the perspective found in the Psalm, but I like the idea of making it more intimate by singing straight to Him.
