  • "Still" (New song)

I am leading worship and preaching this Sunday, talking about metaphorical "caves" that we hide in to escape disappointment and danger. The challenge will be for people to build "monuments" into their lives to remember God's faithfulness. This demo is very sparse--I practiced the song with the band last night and it had a great vibe. Of course I lowered it a few keys too...

    "Still"
words and music, Trent Smith 2011

Why do I linger, why do I labor
    Under a cloud of fear?
Why do I worry, wondering if You care?

    You are still God,
    And You're still good,
And Your unfailing love will go on, on, on.

Why should I carry shackles around me?
Why should I bow to shame?
Enemies cower, shuddering at Your name.

    You are still God,
    And You're still good,
And Your unfailing love will go on, on, on.

You are God, and You're good. 4x

    You are still God,
    And You're still good,
    And Your unfailing love,
    It's an infinite love,
    It's a plentiful love,
    It goes on, on, on.

Being a keys player, I love that I can hear the clicking sound of keys. I am also digging that whacky synth you have come in. Awesmoe build sequence from 2:00 on.

Very nice! I'd leave the key where it's at...sounds great right there!

I listen to your songs and wish they wouldn't end.
All that hath life and breath, praise ye the Lord!

1948 Steinway, baby....my friend--producer Brian Steckler--was blessed to inherit it. Great, vibey piano.
