  • Any ideas for Mother's Day?

    Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone has a special song(s) that you're planning to sing on Mother's Day. I have a few for Father's Day, but can't seem to find anything to honor our Moms. Any ideas?

    Thanks.
    Rob

We are using: One Heartbeat At A Time - Steven Curtis - not very new but perfect for our service. We are also using a monologue and have taken pictures of moms with their kids around the church to run during the Steven Curtis song.

One that I think is great for Mother's Day is Aaron Shust "More Wonderful", its a worship song but the chorus and bridge words are perfect for Mom.

      Aaron Shust "More Wonderful"
      chorus
You've been more wonderful to me than I could have ever imagined
You've shown more love than I could show in a thousand years
And although it seems at times like it all means nothing to me
You gotta know that I love You
You gotta know that I need You

      bridge
When the world crashes down around me
I know You'll be there to pull me out from the rubble
When my enemy surrounds and I call on your name
You'll be there to deliver me from my troubled soul

I'm struggling with the same thing - I thought about "One Little Heartbeat" but would like to do something that a group of guys can do together. Hoping for a couple ideas.

We have Arms of Love and What A Friend I Have Found towards the end of our set... They both seemed appropriate for mother's day!

I just found out that, since we have no time to prepare this for live - we're going to play THIS VIDEO on Sunday. And no, I'm not kidding.

                    "God Bless Our Mothers"

Rob, it's not a perfect song, but it will work on short order: I posted a song on here a few days ago; you may have seen it. It is under Worship Arts and Songwriting, Song Center. "Mothers Day Song". If you can do "Fairest Lord Jesus," you can do this song. Check it out.

I've always wanted to use John Mayer's "Daughters" and Nickle Creek's "The Hand Song" on Mother's Day.

We're not doing anything particular for worship, but our Send Judah First choir will be singing together with the KidzPort kids. We'll be doing Hezekiah Walker's "I Need You To Survive" while flowers are being handed out to mom's.

Our tradition is to have the youngest child in a family come up and get a flower for the mother, but we make sure every mother in the sanctuary gets one.
