Holidays can be tricky for your setlists. It’s that inner tension of “Do I choose the song that’s OBVIOUS in theme or do we play it more subtle?” We’d like to further explore this and decided to expand the normal Sunday setlist to a Monday discussion.
The question of whether to sing “Good Good Father” on Father’s day seemed to be ringing through the interwebs in worship leading circles. Personally, we did sing it and felt it to be an appropriate fit – & the congregation’s voices rang out! We also understand if you chose not to. The purpose here is NOT song bashing , but to hear why you chose what you lead for Father’s Day. When you tag your list, feel free to share ideas/factors that went into the planning.
To participate, simply create a graphic, overlay the song titles & artists/authors, & post your image to your Instagram account, tagging @theworshipcommunity in the image, & hashtagging #SundaySetlists.
We will regularly pull random names from #SundaySetlists participants for giveaways, & compile Spotify & Amazon Music playlists of our community’s most used songs! So, challenge & encourage your fellow worship pastors/leaders – post those setlists!
