Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of:
Sunday, Jan 31, 2010

Welcome to the 81st consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

oh, cool! (never seen this kind of topic before)

I'm a 20 year old kid who lead his first worship service only about a year and.......year and 2 weeks ago at a Youth service, and only recently got "promoted", if you will, to the Sunday morning squad. We got 3 other worship leaders (the Worship/Assistant Pastor, a musical genius who can learn an instrument in an hour and a female professional musician). It was a HUGE encouragement and I hope I haven't let my Church down.

    This week I did...

Let There Be Joy (no idea who by)
    One Way - H. U.
    Forever - Chris Tomlin
Love Came Down - Ben Cantelon
    Give Thanks - Henry Smith?
I Surrender All - Ruben Studdard?

It's not exactly a big Church...maybe 400-500 on Sunday mornings, but we have a great mix of culture and age groups, so I try to make sure there's something for everyone (I pray a LOT over the song lists during the week, God kinda just puts the songs on my heart and then I try to see how they work and stuff...). The set was going great, I was really able to focus on God and not worry about the music which is always awesome... but man, when we started Give Thanks and then afterward went into I Surrender All, it was just amazing how...I guess "thick?" the presence of God was... it was a real great moment.

Sorry, started rambling about the service... guess I just wanted to share, in a way, the experience

    God Bless!

Lost our Saturday night service to the snow, but, we all made it for both services on Sunday!

Link to blog posted. Great service, it's a wonderful feeling when the congregation gets into the worship and the sound that is produced from a group of people in unision worship to God. No greater sound in my opinion.

  9. Sermon meditation yesterday focused on "...I was sick and you looked after me..."Matt 25:36 We've been going through that portion of the 25th chapter of Matthew as a sermon series. Each week our offerings have been focues on a certain section of that teaching; bringing in food for the hungry, donating money to build a well for clean drinking water, collecting money to buy medicine and supplies for the sick in Haiti. What a rich time of worship we had yesterday.

-Opening: O Praise Him (David Crowder)
-(Leading into a time of Greeting one another)
-Agnus Dei (sort of a Third Day / Michael W. Smith combon arrangement)
    -Came to My Rescue (Hillsong)
    -Healer (Hillsong)

    Love this type of forum!

This Sunday was a great time for our church, we had a praise and worship time better than we had seen in the last 15 years. Several hours of prayer and fasting went into this week... it was more about preperation of spirit than music! For songs though, we used Beautiful One, God of Wonders, Wonderful God, Wonderful Maker, and for alter time Revelation Song.

What a wonderful move of God!!!

  18. Bandguy564's Avatar Bandguy564 says:

Before the service began today things were a little wild....Our worship leader (me) slipped on the ice fell with my guitar flying out of my hand..our bass drum pedal broke during the preservice rehearsal, we were missing a monitor and we had no words on the screen for the first song (which we sang again) and God blessed the service in an huge way...pretty amazing and yes both me and my guitar (a taylor btw) are alright...Here is our songlist

Let the praises ring - Lincoln Brewster
    Everlasting God
    How He loves
    Enough
I Need Thee - Altar Call
