  • Apart from our Sound Man getting called away somewhat last minute, making us grab up one of our lesser experienced volunteers, this past Sunday was GREAT!

“He shall reign Forevermore” – Tomlin
    “Christmas Offering” – Baloche
“Mary did you Know” – Gaither Arr.
“O come all ye Faithful” – Traditional

Super excited for our Christmas Eve Melodrama/Comedy of the Christmas Story from the Jesus Storybook Bible – it will truly be unlike any service we’ve done beforečśŐ (Angel wielding a lightsaber, lots of congregational involvement, a mad-libs section) Set list includes:
Hark the Herald Angels Sing/King of Heaven – Baloche
    Midnight Clear (Love Song) -Tomlin
    Winter Snow – Audrey Assad/Tomlin
    Noel – Lauren Daigel/Tomlin┬á
    Silent Night – Tomlin

I’ll follow up next week for how it went. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Last Sunday was our Christmas concert. We create a worship experience using all of our ensembles: Band, 2 choirs, and 2 handbell groups. It was a blast! Too many songs in total to list, but as for the band, we joked it was a “Very Getty Christmas”:
Call: O Children Come – Getty
Opening Song: Christmas is Coming – Jason Gray (with kids doing ribbon dancing… super fun!)
Somewhere else: Away in a Manger – arranged in-house with an “O Come Emmanuel” electric guitar interlude between verses
Response: Holy Spirit (Living Breath of God) – Getty; we’ll probably use this through the year!
Sending: Go, Tell It on the Mountain – Getty; Super fun with string arrangements.

There you have it. It was plenty of work, but well worth it. Could use a lot of new music for the coming year; this is my first year as a FT worship leader after volunteering for the past 17!
