Yesterday was CRAZY! It was “Youth Sunday”, so I got to arrange, rehearse, & train youth teams for 3 different services at 1st UMC – it sorta had my head spinning at times. What was encouraging was having another team entirely – with myself absent – running our new ENCOUNTER service, & hearing nothing but INCREDIBLE reports from all of our visitors.

Though the order of song was different, our set from the Blended & “Traditional” services (it’s not a traditional set, but that’s youth Sunday for ya) were:
“Look & See” – Village Church
    “Our God” – Tomlin
“Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone” – Tomlin
“Set a Fire” – United Pursuit

and over at our ENCOUNTER service, the set was:
    “Happy Day” – Hughes
“Your Love Never Fails” – Jesus Culture
“One Thing Remains” – Jeremy Riddle
    “Holy Spirit” – Torwalt

We had a few tech glitches in the early service, but everyone did incredibly, & God showed up. A good Sunday!

    I Glory In Christ – Bonar/McCraken

Funny story – Due to a musician showing up two minutes before the service started and me scrambling to give them sheet music, I messed up the order of the songs on my music stand thus not leading the songs in the planned order throwing off the music team and the volunteer projecting the songs on the screen. Of course, they caught on to what song I was playing very quickly, but boy did I feel dumb. Then my wife told me about how she was helping prepare communion before service and accidentally switched which cups in the trays were supposed to be wine and which were supposed to be grape juice. After realizing I had just tasted juice instead of wine during communion, I realized what my wife had done and how all the kids in the service had just had wine and I didn’t feel so bad about screwing up the song order anymore.
