Sunday Setlists #190

Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of: Sunday, March 11, 2012

Welcome to the 190th consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

White Flag series – We began a new series this weekend, lead by our Senior High Pastor Jesse Rider. Chris Tomlin’s new song WHITE FLAG is amazing sand was easily supported by our graphics in the program, on the screen and the hand painted flags on stage! http://www.loribiddle.com

Great Sunday at SSCC. Taught Matt Redman’s 10,000 reasons and did a parody on Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall! http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2012/03/12/sunday-recap-2/

I’m late this week…. We introduced a new song (I Am Forgiven) for our sermon series on forgiveness. I was a bit nervous that I bit off more than our band could chew… but I think it worked! Our set list was:

    Lord, We Pray/Gustafson
    I Am Forgiven/Houghton & Sanchez
    I Will Search/Houghton
    Your Grace Is Enough/Maher

Added a new song to our list this week. How many new songs to you add throughout the year?

    • Jencp

Hi Michael~ I would say I add maybe 4-6 new songs a year (not counting when we do “special music.”) When I add a new song, I have us sing it at least 3-4 weeks in a row – hoping it will really sink into the collective memory of the congregation. What about you?
