Sunday Setlists #189

Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of: Sunday, March 04, 2012

Welcome to the 189th consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

Click here to receive an email reminder each week to participate.

Total train wreck on a new arrangement of an older song that we play…but hey, people were still singing loud! :)

We had one of our college students bring the message – he did a great job! Also we had the Young Africans Choir do a 3 song set. They were awesome – great energy and story! We did only 3 songs:
    Your Mercy/Vineyard
    Let It Rise/Holland Davis
    Prepare Ye The Way/Tommy Walker

Communion yesterday. It’s special when you can hear the congregation singing over the instrumentation. It starts a feedback loop between the musicians and the congregation that’s quite hard to describe, but really awesome and very worshipful. Anyone know what I mean?

Trying to be more intentional about the rubrics (verbal transitions between elements) we use.

I have been loving seeing what other people are doing each week. Learning lots of new songs these ways.

Another good service at St. George Episcopal in Nashville. This is very different than both the churches I grew up in and the one I’m now a member of. Love to break down stereotypes and build bridges in the Body.
