Sunday Setlists #185

Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of: Sunday, February 05, 2012

Welcome to the 185th consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

The longer I am in ministry the more intentional I and my team become about planning worship services.

Always a pleasure watching our youth band. My vantage point from the drums this past weekend. Everyday, Song of Hope, Sing Alleluia, Mighty to Save.

I was rudely reminded this week of why there is a MIDI “Panic” function built prominently into the interface of MainStage. Out of nowhere, in the middle of a long sustained note on string pads, the kind of note that is out there in the open, the sound just cuts out and I see the CPU pegged on my laptop. A quick double click of the mouse (I always pre-position the cursor over the panic button just in case), fixed things up, but it was a bit awkward. Fortunately, our piano player heard the blip, saw the pained look on my face and quickly covered it over and preserved the worship that was going on.

    (sigh)
