Sunday Setlists #182

Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of: Sunday, January 15, 2012

Welcome to the 182nd consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

We had a didgeridoo player join us for our worship set yesterday! And one of our bell choir did special music with the didger – premiering a brand new piece.

We incorporated some oldies this weekend. I’m always surprised at how many people express thanks and appreciation when we do. :) The simplicity and familiarity were refreshing to us all.

  • I thought it worship was not going to go well. My prayer for the morning: God help us to stay out of the way of Your Spirit working through us and around us.

  • We had a snowy Sunday. Made for a sparse attendance, but was somewhat relaxed because of it.

  • Opening with Billy Joel on an upbeat note for our marriage series.

  • It was nice to get back on the acoustic grand to accompany a soloist. She sang “I Call You” by Rita Springer. I enjoy playing for others like that more than anything else.
