Sunday Setlists #154

Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of: Sunday, July 3, 2011

Welcome to the 154th consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

Click here to receive an email reminder each week to participate.

Confession: I was highly disappointed with Sunday’s worship service. My husband and I were out of town visiting friends and visited a worship service that was very shallow. The service had a “preshow” (which means to me they treat the service like a show), the worship leader was focused more on getting people to clap than pointing them to the one we worship, and scripture was twisted in the message as a means to motivate people a certain way. Call me a cynic, but I don’t believe God wants us to be this shallow when we come to worship him. Lord forgive us when our worship is in vain.
