Sunday Setlists #132 – January 30, 2011

Share your worship confessionals, recaps, and setlists for the week of: Sunday, January 30, 2011

Welcome to the 132nd consecutive week of “Sunday Setlists”. The purpose of “Sunday Setlists” is to share a recap of your worship services. What songs did you use, what arrangements? What worked really well and what didn’t work as well as you’d like? What issues did you have preparing? What is the sermon series? How about creative elements used in the service? You don’t have to be the pastor or worship leader to participate. We would really love to get reviews from the perspective of those in our congregations each week.

Super fun Sunday yesterday!!–we did an all acoustic set with two percussionists (Cajon, shakers, tambourine, djembe, congas, etc) bass, keys, 6-string, 12-string, violin, and a dozen or so vocalists.
    Here’s the set list:

    “Love the Lord” –Lincoln Brewster
    “You Are Good” –Israel Houghton
    “Healer” (chorus only) –Mike Gugli-something
    “Lord’s Prayer” –Trent Smith
“How He Loves” (chorus only) –J. M. McMillan
“I Will Lift My Eyes” –Bebo Norman/Jason Ingram

After the sermon/etc we ended with a Crowder-esque Bluegrass worship celebration…way fun!!!
    “I Saw the Light”
    “Do, Lord”
    “I’ll Fly Away”

    That was our Sunday…good times!

I also love sprinkling in acoustic sets several times a year. Miss having a violinist myself, though.

Had someone tonight tell me he was still singing the songs we sang yesterday during service! Such a great feeling!

That’s wonderful Holly! Great songs usually stick with us!

Great time of worship this past weekend despite missing half the riffs on electric guitar. It’s good to practice, but I have to remember it’s meaningless if God doesn’t show up. http://www.saywhatyouwill.net/archives/1528
