Reviewers and Writers Needed for TWC

Reviewers and Writers Needed!

TheWorshipCommunity.Com has quickly become a place where people are coming to discuss new worship resources, products, CDs, DVDs, and songs.  The various record labels, publishers, and indie producers have noticed this and not a week goes by that we don’t receive shipments of CDs, DVDs, and resources.

WIth that comes the daunting task of writing reviews on the various resources that are flooding the market.  That’s where we need your help.

TheWorshipCommunity.Com is looking for skilled writers who are active in worship ministry that could contribute reviews.  In addition, we would like to do something that is unique to this type of reviews - we’d love to have multiple reviewers on the same project.  This would give us 3-4 different viewpoints on the same resource.

This is what would be involved:

  1. Reviewers will be notified of available resources.
  2. Reviews need to be well written in a style and format that is easy to read, professional, and concise.  We want truthful, honest reviews, but if criticism is warranted, it should be gracious.
  3. Reviews must be submitted in advance of the publish deadline.
  4. On reviews with multiple authors, we’d ask for a short, 1-paragraph summary, and perhaps a 1-sentence recap of each song, etc., with your own “take” on the material.
Lastly - if you have purchased or own a product that you’ve reviewed, feel free to submit it to us and we’ll consider publishing the review here as well.  If TWC provides you with a complimentary copy of the resource, we’d ask for your review to be written exclusively for TWC.  In a situation like that, we’d want you to blog about the review and of course, the review would have links back to your blog as the author, etc.
Interested?  Leave a comment below.  Please include URL’s to reviews you’re already written or published so we can check them out.
WRITERS NEEDED:
In addition to Reviews, we are looking for partners who wish to contribute articles and content in the various sections of TWC, including Worship Leadership, Worship Theology, Tech/Media, and Worship Arts.  Although we’ve got a large group of contributors, we’ve found that everyone gets so busy they don’t have time to submit articles.  (including myself!).  That’s where you come in … if you feel that you have the potential to write quality, professional content - get involved with us.
The preference is to get articles that are written exclusively for TWC - meaning, we’d rather have new, fresh content instead of just re-publishing stuff you’ve already put on your blog.  Granted, we also realize that there are thousands of people checking out the stuff on TWC that may not read your blog (or even know about it, for that matter).

So, we’re open to both … though, exclusive material stands the best chance for being Featured on the site and syndicated to millions of viewers via our partnership with the Worship Channel at ChristianPost.Com.

So contact us if you’d like to be involved!

Sure, I’d love to write some exclusive stuff for TWC - if you think I have some potential in this area, feel free to contact me. I’ve never done reviews, but am open to that as well.

I would love to help in any way, either for reviews or articles. I spent two years teaching English, so I feel that my writing skills would meet your qualifications. My current area of worship ministry is a worship class I teach at a Christian school in Cedar Hill, TX. It involves both spiritual and practical components of worship leading, and the students lead worship every week for the junior high and high school chapel services.

Hey Fred! I would be glad to add my 2 cents. You can see a review I wrote for the new Lincoln Brewster CD here - http://johndarnell.wordpress.com/2008/09/22/lincoln-brewster-today-is-the-day/

Let me know what I can do!

P.S. I’m just done the road from you in Jacksonville. If you ever head south, hit me on email. I’d love to connect!

    Hi Fred -

I’d love to help out with reviews. I’ve reviewed several artists from Indieheaven - I don’t think a link would work since it’s a password member site, as you know. I also write more devotional type works, if that would be helpful. Let me know what you might need!

You can check out my blog and see if you think you’d be interested in my writing. thanks.

    Hey Fred,
Man I’d love to participate. I’ve been thinking I should get more structure in my reviews already so even if not chosen, I’ll begin using similar guidelines!
I’ve got quite a few reviews up already, do you want links to all of them? Let me know.

As far as featured writer goes, one step at a time. I’d love to jump in there however, time and lack of any actual theological education might be a problem for me :)

Thanks for your insight and willingness to consider diverse views regarding modern worship. My background includes various church ministries, i.e., administrator, pastor, teacher, counselor, worship leader, musician, and song writer. As you stated, criticism of another’s gift, must be done with grace. However, after 30+ years of christian service, I admit that comments and suggestions received from others, greatly enhanced my performance as well as my understanding of the broader picture of what worship really should be about. Sound judgment, analysis of qualities and evaluation of comparative worth, will speak volume, regarding your industry’s objectives and outcome. Besides technology, I believe that music is “the” greatest potential catalyst for fostering global unity! What an opportunity! Best Wishes! Will

Yes, please consider me for reviewing some resources and writing reviews for TWC! I am from New England, and am in active worship ministry as a worship leader and worship ministry leader in my church. I’ve attended the church for about 15 years and have seen the worship culture ebb and flow with what the Lord is doing here in New England. I would really enjoy being a part of what TWC is doing in this project.

Fred, I actually spent some time this weekend praying about contacting you about just this thing. I love to write and would love to contribute. While I can easily write reviews, I think my areas of expertise would be worship leadership, team building, worship theology, general leadership, etc…….

So let me know what I need to do next…..

    Hi Fred,

I would be happy to contribute articles. As you know, I wrote the “Top Ten Rehearsal Tips” now running on your site. Fred,

I’d love to throw my hat in the ring as a reviewer.
As a studio owner, I’ve had to listen to quite a bit of music (good and bad).

I think I would be able to assist.

    Blessings and great work !
