[Poll] Transitions: Silence or Flow?

poll-header

Time for some interaction! When it comes to transitions between songs in your Sunday Setlists, do prefer to bring each song to a hard close with a second or two of silence between each? Or do you prefer to have some instrument continue to “pad” the space between the songs?

Obviously, we know that there is a time and a place for each but if you had to choose one, which would you lean on more? Answer in our poll below and if you have thoughts, comments, or questions feel free to leave them in the comment section below!

My preference is to have some kind of a segue between songs, but it isn’t my highest priority. Frequently there are breaks in our service because of too differing keys.

I think that we need both, there are times when the service should keep flowing onward and then there are times when a brief pause is like an exclamation point for the worship… As a leader we need to watch our congregation and know how they are responding, sometimes that means lingering on a song, sometimes that means stopping and letting them stand in awe, and sometimes it means we need to keep floating down the river of His pleasures.
