Opportunity: Unite Worship Conference for the Whole Team

GIVEAWAY: The Worship Community is giving away TWO (2) free registrations to this conference. Details below.

Today we’re featuring an upcoming worship conference opportunity called Unite. This is a conference that we can really get behind with it’s vision of creating an environment and learning space where whole teams can be influenced, encouraged and challenged as one unit.

The folks behind this conference, Worship Facilities Expo (WFX) are a great resource for information, support, and guidance for the church in regards to creating and utilizing worship resources for ministry. They’ve brought together some well-known and respected featured presenters such as: Rick Muchow, Jennie Lee Riddle, Dennis Choy, David Leuschner, Thomas Miller, Carl Albrecht, Camron Ware, Ross Parsley, Lucia Parker, and David Ashcraft.

Featuring a national conference in Atlanta National (Sept. 19-21) and regional events in St. Louis Regional (Sept. 24-25), Pittsburgh Regional (Oct. 1-2), and Boston Regional (Oct. 8-9), choose the Unite conference location that best fits you and your team.

From the Unite website:

Unite Worship Conference is uniquely designed for the entire “team” responsible for worship.  We believe that worship week to week is more than the worship leader and band.  At Unite, we believe we are called to connect in unity for worship; as such Unite is designed for pastors worship leaders, praise teams, worship musicians and tech and media teams to attend together. The Unite Worship experience will forever change the manner in which your team approaches worship.

Through Unite, each member will grow in skills while growing together as a team by focusing on God and the meaning and purpose of worship. By attending, each member will discover a renewed spirit and motivation and the support of the entire team to implement new ideas.

Unite has been specifically developed to serve these ministry roles whether full-time, part-time or volunteer:

  • Senior or Lead Pastor
  • Technical or Media Director/Pastor
  • Worship Leader or Pastor
  • Worship team (musicians and vocalists)
  • Music/Choir Director
  • Tech Team members (audio, video, graphics and lighting)

Unite has been developed in consultation with church leaders and worship teams who feel called to teach skills and approaches that can help transform worship in the local church. Unite purposefully avoids a focus solely on the worship team or leader but emphasizes the role all parts (Pastor, Tech, Worship Team) and the need to be “united” in planning, purpose and execution.

Unite does not strive to define worship styles, but respects and supports the unique flavors of all churches.

To help spread the word, we’re giving away TWO (2) free registrations to UNITE. (prize package does not include travel, food, or lodging).

Relationships are the lifeblood of the church and vision is the driving force behind any unified team. Accordingly, opportunities to develop relationships are extremely important both within and across disciplines. Concurrently, there must be a clear, concise vision that weaves into every activity that the team(s) engage in.

It does not require a significant expense to create relationship building opportunities.

Barbecues, Bible studies, card games, visiting other churches and critiquing the experience together, jam sessions, etc. are all low-cost, yet meaningful, activities that can build relationships and enrich the contributions related to our calling.

Vision should bind, direct, and guide the team and leadership. Issues related to programming, production, song selection, budget considerations (including conference attendance), recruiting, etc. must be tied to vision. Once the team catches it, the leaders can concentrate on supporting, directing, and pastoring… rather than being involved in the nuts-and-bolts of the ministry.

This looks amazing. New worship conferences are entering a crowded market of events and conferences. Unite seems to be focused on bringing the entire team together, from the musicians, singers, communicators, and techs … very excited.

Okay, I am entering this – I have been praying that I find a way to go to the Boston conference after I had the chance to listen to Rick Muchow last year and to be able to bring a portion of the church team (pastor, lead sound and lead vocal). Perhaps, if we only had to pay a part of it, we can manage to go!! Here’s hoping!!!

The one true and honest way for unity in the body of Christ–prayer. Allow God to enter in and transform us, bring us together in unity through prayer. Bridget Hanna
