Dear Worshipers,
What an incredible few weeks we’ve had since our launch of Version 2 of TheWorshipCommunity.Com back on July 8, 2008. Since the “v2″ launch nearly a month ago, we’ve supplied articles, reviews, and insights from over fifteen different contributors. As we’ve said before, one of the things that is so special about TheWorshipCommunity.Com is the grass-roots nature of the content. Our articles are written by contributors all over the world who are “in the trenches” …. leading worship, applying technology, and creating encounters through worship arts in small, medium, and large churches. We combine exclusive content with re-published articles from what we discover as “the best of” from worship and ministry-related blogs, discussion forums, and resources.
Originally, I was concerned about the idea of allowing comments on the articles. My concern was that the interactive forums would suffer since commenting on articles is so easy, and does not require registration. On the contrary, people have been commenting away but the new forum registrations, topics, and discussions are more active than ever.
As the Founder and Publisher of TheWorshipCommunity.Com (a division of Highest Praise Productions, Inc.), I wanted to have a “spot” here to share site news, updates, and developments. I’d like to share what other’s are saying about “TWC” as well.
For starters, I’d like to celebrate a few things:
1. As of today, TheWorshipCommunity.Com has been listed at church.alltop.com. Alltop.com is a site whose purpose is to “… help you explore your passions by collecting stories from “all the top” sites on the web. We’ve grouped these collections — “aggregations” — into individual Alltop sites based on topics …”.
2. TWC site traffic (including unique visitors and pageviews) more than doubled in July. For the first week of August, it’s on track to more than triple July. Praise God!
3. According to Alexa.Com, TWC has quickly passed many other popular worship-related sites and publications in “site ranking”.
4. Coming soon, we will be providing syndicated content to a new “worship channel” at ChristianPost.Com. ChristianPost.Com attracts more than 1.3 million viewers per month.
These are just a few milestones we can celebrate together.
Behind the scenes, TWC is steaming ahead with the help of numerous volunteers who share the passion of seeing the worshiping church in community. Brooke Sellers (lesliebrooke.com) has been volunteering as our Copy Editor, Adam Ogden has been volunteering as our Managing Editor, scheduling topics, our editorial calendar, and communicating with contributors. Chris Moncus (chrismoncus.com) has invested immense numbers of hours into design, coding, and graphics. Joel Klampert (cecworship.wordpress.com) has designed some of our marketing ads and has been a valuable liaison with record labels in getting products for review. And of course, a million kudos to the contributors who have been investing into this community by offering their articles and content. Please see their bios, visit their blogs, and support their ministries!
There are many more exciting days ahead. Look forward to seeing you in the community!
For the Kingdom,
Fred McKinnon
