Default What do you look for???

Questions...

1) What do you look for in a worship conference?

2) What is the biggest need in your worship ministry?

3) What would seal the deal for you in price?

Thanks!!!

1. how much opportunity will I have to have real, meaningful dialog ... I prefer smaller, round-table sessions to huge lectures.

2. biggest need? teaching the congregation to become more engaged and passionate about worship ... and how to bridge the gap between the band and them.

3. as cheap as possible, but still good. I'd rather have discussion with like-minded leaders than pay extra to cover huge honorariums for big name speakers that I can listen to their sermons and teachings online all week for free.

Personal interaction is key. I'd like to be able to talk to the presenters at some point, one on one, and (like Fred) prefer smaller workgroups. Also, choice of topics.

Biggest need? Building quality, working together, serving the congregation.

Cost? Always an issue in a small church. Very few conferences ever come to our area. If it costs over $200 to attend, we don't even consider it.

Great insights - even the small retreat I'd like to have would be over $200 in hotel costs. I don't see how anyone could put anything on for more than 1 day for less than $200 - but certainly understand that budget restriction in MANY churches, if not, MOST.

Yup - pretty much the same for me!
Another need - inspiring a true passion for Christ within all worship team members. I find this the most frustrating...

My biggest need is all out, raise the roof, emotional filled, spirit led singing sessions!

Then after that, would be a chance to rub elbows with other childrens worship leaders and have a chance to dialogue about what we are doing in the area of childrens worship. Even a training session to learn movements and such with other leaders....

Don't know if this is the place to post this or not, but NEXT summer I'll be putting together a "Tour". I'll be travelling to as many churches as I can, teaching the "Smitty Method" of worship.
