Default I Will Sing (Faith & Works)

Hey again, I thought I'd share a song I wrote a few years back. I'm not a big songwriter, so I wrote a verse and chorus several years ago, and about a year and a half ago wrote the second verse. It was one of those that I just forgot about, and one day was just inspired with some lyrics to finish it. I called it "Faith & Works" as I felt like that was what best described what came from my heart. At the same time, there's no true connect with those words literally in the song, so I called it more appropriately "I Will Sing" with a sort of subtitle or theme.

I don't even remember the specific passage that inspired this song. There are several times (for instance, John 14:31) where Jesus tells the disciples, "let's go." The first verse was inspired by Jesus basically telling us to quit sitting around thinking and talking about stuff and GO and BE, to move forward, etc. The chorus is a way of owning that, getting up and saying "Yes" to the lord, singing of his love and grace through "going". The second verse was written later on when the Lord was breaking my heart for injustice, specifically the cry of orphans and trafficked women and children.

Let's call for intermission, I think I rambled on enough. The words are simple, yet they express much. You can click on the title to get the mp3, recorded live with simple acoustic, keys, and bass. Hope it works alright.

I Will Sing (Faith & Works)

Verse1:
Arise and let us go from here
Do not toil on your despair
Leave the past alone to sleep
Your faith and trust ahead to keep

Chorus:
And I will sing
of your love
And I will sing
of your grace

Verse2:
Stand up and take a look around
And listen to the crying sound
You can not do this on your own
So take my hand, you're not alone

Bridge:
And I will sing
