Default I need to spec out a projector and lens (I'm assuming). Point me the right way

    hey all,

I need to find a little local church a projector for their worship center, which doubles as a gym. They have a 12x16 screen and they want to mount the projector exactly 95 feet from the screen. I'm assuming I need at least 5000 Lumens, but what I'm not square on is what lens I'm going to need. I've looked at a ton of projector calculators and still have no idea what I need. Any direction at all would be super helpful.

    Thanks,
    Chris

95 feet??? Are you serious? That's huge. You're looking, I would say, at at least 5000 lumens, depending on how much you can control the light in your room.

For that distance, you'll need a long-throw lens, which can run into the thousands of dollars, and can generally only fit on high-end commercial projectors. Typically the most you will get out of a consumer-grade projector and long throw lens is about 60 feet.
