The ability for everyone to have their own account was actually part of the reason we started using Dropbox in the first place. It makes it a lot easier to manage access.

do you still have to send an email to everyone to notify them of the changes? because if there is no notification system with Dropbox, then you might as well email each other the attachment

I do send an email to our team to let them know when everything is posted for a given Sunday, but if they have the desktop app, the files show up directly in a folder on their computer and they get a notification that way.

I don't see how the users would get notified if I edit the file if it is in my public folder, unless we are all sharing the same Dropbox login/account....

Ah, I see the confusion now - we don't use the Public folder. I have a "CenterPoint Worship" folder that I invite each member of the team to join. So it's a shared folder among the members of the team. That way, when I add files to that folder, it shows up in that folder on their accounts. From my perspective, it's more secure than having everyone share an account - everyone has their own login & password for Dropbox and on the rare occasion that I need to remove someone from the folder, I can do it without needing to change the password for everyone else.

Ahhhhh.... it's those pesky details that are oh so important. I just shared a folder with my Pastor... now I wait to see what he sees on his end....

Dropbox also has pretty robust mobile apps, so you even pull things down on the go.
