Hi! My name is Christine, and I'm from the North DFW, Texas. I moved out here a few years ago from Illinois to study Worship at Christ For the Nations Institute. Currently, I sing in the Gateway Worship Vocals Choir at my awesome church, Gateway Church, in Southlake, Texas, and I aspire to someday soon do some studio recording. My heart is for evangelism and using music as a tool to minister God's Presence to others. My dreams are to someday be involved in a worship/evangelism/missions tour across our country with a band and team of people who have hearts to see God's Word and Worship arising across our nation.
Recently, I went on an amazing Faith trip to LA for about 6 weeks, serving at the Dream Center and the Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row. On this trip, I saw how hungry people in our nation are for the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ, and God totally gripped my heart with His deep, deep love for me and others. I changed on this journey.
So, hey, I joined this forum a couple years ago, but life got busy, and I never engaged. But, I have recently been thinking that I need some pointers on looking for band members, comparing studio time costs for my songwriting, and I thought I might also meet some like-Spirited, like-vision people on here to learn and grow with. It's nice to meet you. I hope you're having a blessed and encouraging day. ~Christine, Jeremiah 29:11.
Welcome back, Christine!!! It's awesome to see God at work in your life! His love indeed endures forever. I'm not at studio expertise yet, so I pray others will chime in to your thread with some helpful advice and guidance on getting you to the studio well prepared. Blessings to you on your journey!

Welcome! Well apparently you aren't in Cali, I've done a lot of work down in Skid Row and meeting and feeding people. I'm glad you got the opportunity for God to touch your heart as you touched the hearts of others.
Thanks, Melanie!Looking forward to how God will use this forum productively in my life! Thanks for all you do to serve on here!
Ed, that is precious that you've served on skid row. It was truly an eye awakening experience for me in regards to how to pray for our nation and all of us who live here. While there I met a man whose family just arrived. He had lost his job and didn't know where else to go. I saw the light of Christ pouring out of His eyes, though, and his dependency of Him. They're all going to be okay. I had a chance to teach English in the URM building to 6 to 10 guys on 2 given days. It was powerful how hungry they were to be discipled. Skid row isn't just filled with addicts. That is a life. My prayer is that God will shine the Light of His Presence there and many will get delivered and receive salvation, and find their true Home. I loved my time in LA. I call this summer's life changing adventure: Epic Faith Tour 2012, Summer West Coast Missions Trip. Incredible ways God will work when we step out in faith and trust Him.God bless you there in Cali! Keep SHINING!!!
Shalom Christine! I used to be at Gateway and have many friends from CFNI. If you're interested in recording a demo, I am familiar with who is who at the various studios around Dallas. E-me and let me know what you want to do so I can make the right recommendation. Putting a band together in Dallas is simple....keeping them is another thing.

what? me worry?
So nice to meet you!(Didn't catch your name, though?).
Hey! We might know some of the same people then! Yes, I am interested in getting a Christ-centered band together. I want motives to be about Jesus and not trying to be famous, though! lol. I've learned a lot the past couple years, and although people won't say, so much pride gets in the way of real unity and band because of these kind of issues. I just want to make music because it's such a big part of my life, and I don't care about the other stuff. Recording, yes, I want to do that, but once again, it's because I love the work. I do it in my spare time as a hobby, all the time. Songwriting, recording on logic. Making vids with demo songs.
I just finished a ballad today, "Singing A Prayer for You". I guess I just feel like I want to run hard after my dreams for the first time in my life. I've lived very practically, and this season God hasn't let me go do the secure things---like going back into fulltime English teaching (had 3 different opportunities to do so). He's doing something rare, and He's challenging me to stay this course and believe...for all that's in my heart. It's amazing. To just watch Him direct me and basically challenge with with every step.
Thank you for the feedback. I would love to make Christ-centered connections who love worshiping God and making music for His glory. Nice to meet you!!!![]()
OK, I asked what you wanted to do and that response isn't very clear. If you are wanting to go into a studio and record songs, I can help you find the right people for that in a place that won't kill you financially. You would be paying for it, but you would get what you paid for, and it would be what you want..
If you want to put a band together of people who share that vision with you....all I can say is "good luck". Not that it can't happen, but it's a long process that has worse odds than a lottery ticket. Again, you will get what you paid for but it might not be what you really wanted.
I had to give up waiting on others and go solo to accomplish something that lasted more than a few months. There are certainly other ways, but that is the one I recommend.

Sorry I wasn't clear to you. I actually wrote back pretty hurriedly in between working on one of my songs. I didn't proofread my writing. In any case, yeah, I'm trusting God for both! The band and studio time. Thanks for asking and any feedback. I know God has this coverered. I know lots of peeps from church and CFNI. Just need the Lord to give the OK and to open the doors. He will in His timing, I know!
In any case, I still haven't gotten your name? Since this is the inroductions page, just thought to start there! Thank you! And, God bless you on your journey, as well.
~Christine
