PitchBlack (Korg) Vs. TU-2 (Boss)
I've seen many online forums with people raving over the korg pitchblack, but is it better than the classically revered Boss TU-2?
Things to consider:
-I will be playing with a worship team, and not alone (like many of the korg fan boys seem to)
Also wheres the best place to get good (SAFE) deals. I don't want trash, but if I can so dedicate these tools it will be more than tithing (getting a whole new setup =p).
Now lets throw in a curve ball:
Is the tuner in the line6 HD500 comparable to either?
I'm full of questions I know, anything at this point would help.

I find the Pitchblack to be the most intuitive tuner I've used. The way the display works gradually changing both position and color makes it very easy to center in on the note without feeling that the tuner is bouncing back and forth between two positions which is sometimes the way I feel using the boss or other similar tuners. I feel that I can get as close as I want to accurately in tune with out agonizing over when I'm "close enough."
The Pitchblack usually streets for $69.99 which I think makes it a better value than the boss. For August Korg has a promotion where dealers are allowed to advertise the Pitchblack for $59.99 so it's a great time to buy one. Dealers who advertise a price lower than $69.99 (or $59.99 during August 2012) are not full legitimate dealers or are breaking their dealer agreement with Korg. If you deal with someone who is breaking one rule, don't be surprised if they don't treat you right either.
I would strongly encourage trying to find a local dealer who has reasonably competitive pricing where you can try out the pedal and if you like it, buy it there even if it's $5-$10 more, IMHO it's worth it to help keep the local guys there when you need them and support the local economy. Trying out the PB is the best way to see if you like the way it tracks. (BTW it does have multiple display modes although I prefer the default.)
The tuner in the HD500 seems to work fine. (I have one) but I like PB enough that I still use it even when I'm using my HD500.
Full disclosure: I own a local music store where our regular pricing matches mail-order on most major items. I am a authorized dealer for Korg, Boss & Line 6. I usually use an HD500 when I play and use the Pitchblack because I prefer it, not because of any sweetheart deal from Korg or because of any personal row with Boss. I do try to practice what I preach supporting local dealers as much as reasonably possible when I purchase non-musical products.
I've been using Pitchblacks at church and on the road with both my guitar and bass rigs for the last 5 years or so. It's a fantastic tuner, and definitely preferable to the Boss, in my opinion.
I have two set ups - one for the bass and one for the guitar. With the bass I use the Korg and it works very well. I've had friends use it for their guitar and complain - maybe it takes some getting used to. I use the Boss with my guitar rig - but mostly because it was already there and I don't want to buy another tuner if I don't need it.
Thanks alot guys, and for the learning curve, either way is fine. I'm just starting with electric guitar and want to make a solid initial investment.
