    Default Non-Traditional Sung Psalms?

    Hey All,

    So I've been tasked with working sung Psalms into worship at our *casual* service. Sure, the *classic* service can simply sing out of the Psalter... but I'm struggling to find things for the band to play.

    I am working on a list of non-traditional songs that have a strong Psalm theme (see below), but need to expand that list & simply look for other ideas. Please help.

    ======================================

    Because of their structure a lot(possibly most) of the music that comes out of Ihop is psalm based. Check out the album Holy by Cory Asbury/Matt Gillman.

    Do a google search for the Scottish Psalter. These are public domain'd rewrites of the Psalms (some by distinguished lyricists, like Isaac Watts). Many of these are written 8-6-8-6 (Amazing Grace, among other melodies). It's really cool.

    The Scripture to Music Collective may have something useful, although mostly from independent artists: http://www.scripturetomusiccollective.com/the-database/

    Thanks for that link, Matt. I have several friends who use music to help memorize Scripture but had expressed interest in more modern sounding stuff. I'm passing on the link.
