MAJOR prayer needed for a recent Dallas church tragedy
If you live in the Dallas area or have listend to the new recently you more than likely have heard the tragic story about the Steele Family. Below is a link to the incident if you have not.

The Steele family goes to the church that my husband and I lead worship for (Highland Park United Methodist Church). We did not know them personally, as we've only been there a year and it's a very large church, but that doesn't matter. From what we do know of the Steele family they were very, very active in the church community. They lead bible studies, community outreaches, there two kids (16 and 12 years old) were both in the youth group... They are a very highly respected family in the Highland Park area (if you are not from Dallas Highland Park is a very wealthy part of Dallas, TX- million dollar homes and such) that people looked up to. They lived just two blocks from the church which sits on the SMU campus. The husband was a very respected business man and friend.
This tragedy has and still is making a huge impact on HPUMC. Everyone at a loss for words because they can't wrap their heads around this happinging to what seemed to be a perfect family.... This act has shaken this church community to it's core.
Please be in prayer for the Steele family and for HPUMC. The church has done a great job so far in reaching out in prayer, worship, and support. However, many are struggling and searching God for answers as to why and how this could happen. The Steele's 16 year old son, Rodman Jr., is severly struggling right now. He witnessed the whole thing and even tried to stop his father... I can't even imagine what he is going through.... And there are so many unanswered questions right now.
Thank you for your support worship community as we look to our loving God through this time. Pray for peace, comfort, love, and strength.

That's tough stuff - praying for that family and for your church. From the article, it sounds like the church is doing a good job of supporting them.

Dear Krista,
I only joined TWC today, and although it must be a horrible thing for you and your church family to go through, I admire your openness in sharing this with a world wide community. I pray God's comforting arms around all of you, and that His compassion and strength will move through you
to continue to support the Steele family for a long time to come. I hope that no one will judge that family, and that they would have wise and loving support from those who walk with them through this valley.
God bless,
Bernadette
