Hey Guys, I just found this great resource. We don't have many musicians in our church and these backing tracks are excellent quality.

The ubiquitous employment of tracks in worship is problematic for me on a couple of levels. The more benign problem is that tracks necessarily exclude any artistic interpretation of a song, and therefore, prevent the Holy Spirit from leading. Further, we are teaching our congregations that worship is purely cultural... that we couldn't worship without a good beat or broad instrumentation.

The more sinister problem for me however, is that the procurement of tracks necessarily takes a leader's eye off of the bigger picture of recruitment and making disciples. If you don't have many musicians in your church, how is God using you to go get them? If you're using tracks, how would a musician be encouraged to come forward?
