Hi all,
New member and new Worship leader all around. This is a great forum. been looking through most of the post and it has been very helpful in my growth as a ministry leader.
I started out as a sax player in another church and have grown to be really passionate about leading worship. Learned the Bass then acoustic guitar then lighting and sound engineering. I'm the quintessential Jack-of-all-traits-master-of-none but I do try to give my best.
I'm in a small church now (as is most in the NY metropolitan area) with a very small budget. My recently learned tech skills have helped to bring some more umph to our worship services. I get so jealous of churches I see on the interwebs that have all these high priced tech and sometimes wonder if all that money could've been put more to outreach ministries.
Well, I know God has greater plans and will honor those who serve him with everything.
God Bless you all
Welcome to TWC, Gil. Glad you made your association with us official.

Welcome Gil, I lead worship at an A/G church for about 3 years. I'm also a Teen Challenge Graduate that went to the bible college they offer afterwards... T.C.M.I. now I'm a singer/songwriter for the Lord.
I'm glad you have such a passion for leading worship and learning new things as a service to the Lord. Don't be jealous of other ministries. God does many things through all His different bodies of believers. There is a certain type of ministry that can only happen in a 40 person sized church that may not be able to happen in a 4000 person sized church.
As a general rule the worship is the best thing at churches and the outreach is the weakest so it seems like you have your heart in the right place... Now if only we could fuse the two.
