GENERAL SUMMARY:

We are looking for a full-time Minister of Music at Reconciliation Community Church (in Manassas, VA) who will help us encourage our church family to become more alive in Christ, connected with each other, and engaged in the world through the leadership of our music ministry. With their own style, the Minister of Music would work to create an atmosphere and attitude of joyful worship in the lives of God's people by facilitating a Christ-centered, engaging, and creative worship experience.
The major responsibility of this role would be to train and disciple teams of people to help lead music and inspire worship in a variety of areas of church life, primarily Friday evening/Sunday morning services. This person would also assist in service planning, behind-the-scenes preparation and training, as well as other responsibilities related to the music ministry.
We are looking for someone with a deep love for God who leads with integrity, character, and skill.

This person must be a team player who desires to serve the church alongside other full-time staff and volunteers. They should be skilled as a musician, able to engage others from the stage, and have at least 2 years of experience leading music with a band.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall leadership and accountability for the total music ministry of 
the church including: 


-Praise Team (weekly rehearsals and Sunday worship) 

-Work with the pastor and other worship leadership in developing and implementing meaningful worship experiences for the congregation. 

-Serve as a leader in the worship services, giving direction to the congregational singing, praise team, and other phases of worship. 

-Select and teach music for all music groups.

-Rehearse with praise team, soloists and instrumentalists as necessary to properly plan, organize and prepare appropriate music for worship services, church programs, engagements, events, etc.

-Plan music and play piano/guitar for worship services, church programs, engagements, etc.

-Select music from sacred, classical, traditional, contemporary and other resources.

-Supervise the work of paid music staff workers and volunteers, and ensure quality musicians are available for all worship services. Conduct regular staff meetings for the purpose of evaluation and planning.

-Secure substitutes to provide music leadership when needed.

-Work closely with the Media Team regarding all audio and visual needs.

-Coordinate efforts to provide appropriate musical renditions for Christmas/Easter presentations, and other special worship services.
-Meet with the Drama Team when drama presentations are being planned.

-Coordinate the church music program with the church calendar.

-Oversee the care and maintenance of the music library, materials, supplies, musical instruments, and other equipment useful in the music ministry
-Ability to record and edit Pastor’s weekly radio broadcast
