Hey community,

I haven't really been doing much reading/posting on here lately but I thought I would do an update for general information.

I have been doing worship and music ministry in Arkansas City, KS for Destiny Ministries for the last 17 years. It has been great and a lot of fun, but my real desire and life long dream is to be a music teacher. I've been teaching private voice and piano for over 30 years and have been working on my music education degree for 27 years. I finally finished it in December and am a degreed teacher now, certification pending. I applied for the music teaching positions here in Ark City but was not given a second interview, which I was fully expecting because there is an unspoken policy that AC does not hire teaching positions from substitute, para or support staff positions ( I have been accompanist for the high school choir program for 3 years). I also kind of wanted to move closer to mom in Texas so I applied for every music position available at every school in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. I was given an interview and within a week offered a contract and job with Plainville schools in Plainville, KS.

So, I wrap up my last day of high school here, will be tying up some loose ends, getting a couple of classes out of the way (I'm working towards my master's in choral conducting and muisc theory) and will begin next week to start looking for a place to live in Plainville. My last service with the church will be the last Sunday of June.

I'm going to be looking for a church home when I get there but going to take my time and really "church shop". My main thrust will be the teaching job.

Thanks for the update, Jeff! It's great to see what God is doing in the lives of his children. I pray this transition brings you into a much deeper and richer communion with the Father.
