kompoz.com collaborations?

Hey, is anyone still collaborating on kompoz.com? I jsut signed up and joined the TWC group and I'd love to work on some songs. I am much better at writing music than words. I have basic ideas about what I would want the song to be about, but I just can't write the words. I try, I pray, but my lyrics are not good or are never completed. I would be happy to collaborate on music too, though!

I'm just the opposite. I come up with good lyrics, but, since I don't play any instruments, it is hard for me to come up with music.

The Kompoz link hasn't been used much; in fact, the whole songwriting forum here is not very active now, compared to two years ago. Many who were active then had to back away because writing was interfering with sleep and family responsibilities.

You can look in the forum called "Song Center-Share originals and collaborate" and find a number of songs that were collaborations. It would be great to see the activity increase in this forum.

That said, I would be very willing to try to write some words for you to put to music.

Hi Tom,
Yes, I saw that you had written lyrics for several folks on here. Good job on those too.

So, I have uploaded a song of mine on soundcloud at:

It is a happy, upbeat, big rock song. One file has no vocal melody, and the other does (they are clearly titled). So you can check it out and see what you think. The melody can be changed, it's just what I came up with as a guideline.

Hey Ken! I'm on Kompoz (under WorshipVanguard) and still use it today; more for personal projects. However, no collaborations are going through TWC right now. If the Lord so moves, we could start the songwriting challenges up again. Many people posted their songs and got great feedback, but we ran into areas where follow-up became very tough. Since songwriting is a process of writing, re-writing and re-writing again, it's tough to keep the flow going.

If you have ideas on keeping the flow of the songwriting challenges going, feel free to email Russ at editor@theworshipcommunity.com. He's always open to talking music collaboration through this site. Who knows? A fresh wind may blow through our TWC songwriting group.
