Central Passages
There is almost a "duh!" factor to this lesson. If you are thirsty, drink something! But alas, it isn't always that simple.
In the Bible examples of people thirsting used in this lesson, they had things in common:
-They were all thirsty.
-The water came from God.
-They all grumbled about their thirst rather than thanking God for his faithfulness.
-They were all helpless to do anything about their thirst.
What I need to digest in this is that, when I am spiritually dry, that my only source of quenching is God. I must come to him for the living water. It is always available, and there is only one source for it: at Jesus' table.
My Daily Response
Psalm 63 speaks of one who is thirsty and wondering where God is. We learned 4 things from this chapter;
1. Take hold of God
2. Honestly express your desperate thirst and need for God.
3. Choose to praise God in the midst of your dryness.
4. Claim God's satisfaction as you meditate on him.
I wrote words for a song based on Psalm 63 for the TWC Songwriters Challenge in 2010, and fellow TWCer Eddy Mann put it to music.
Here is a link to Eddy singing it.

My Daily Meditation
Dwayne suggested dancing before the Lord as today's expression of praise. I grew up in a home where we were taught that dancing was of the world, therefore, sinful. I have got past that belief, but have never been a dancer. I have two left feet when trying to dance. But since no one is watching but God, I will give it a try.

A line that really hit home in the Central Passage - "rather than being grateful to their God who had never let them down, they grumbled and complained." OUCH!
How many times have I done that? that one line sure convicted me....
Also, I really like the 'substances' list - 1)COME to the waters (deliverance) 2)Buy 'wine' (JOY!!) 3) buy milk (sustenance of God's Word)
And, lastly, the reminder that 'They were unable to refresh themselves'.......how often I turn to myself - try to 'think' my way out of something....ugh.
My Daily Response
I love the calm, the peace that permeates my spirit when I focus on Him, truly give Him that undivided attention...
Father, I want to get rid of these walls I constantly raise, the stumbling blocks I throw in the way of being truly devoted to You. I commit myself and my future to You. Today, i will only look at this moment. I won't 'worry' the future to death or nurse the concern over financial insecurity. This day is Yours. Amen

I like your response to the Central Passage - you put it so simply - 'There is only one source for it - at Jesus' table'. What I have to remember? Not only is there life-giving water there, He will even carry me to it, if I ask.....
