As I was planning the worship set this week I started playing around with the hymn Nothing But the Blood. As I worshiped with the song I just felt like I wanted to take more time to allow the words to dwell and felt like it could use a different chorus. So I've been working on this version and wanted to share it and see what you all think.
Here's a link to soundcloud where you can hear it:

I have a chart available too if anyone is interested. The chart is in D though I capo'ed 2 and played it in E for the recording.
Thanks, Jon
I like it a lot - Very cool interpretation! I wouldn't mind having the chart if you're offering :-)

Sure thing Eric. Do you have an email I can send it to you at?
Very nicely done. I really like it.
In the era fo the contemporary church abandoning the old songs and their rich doctrine, it is a good thing you and others are doing by taking the words and sometimes the tune of a great old hymn and redoing it in a way that the contemporary church will use.
I would love to hear this song sung in a million churches around the world.

Thanks Tom,
I love the hymns of the faith too and definitely love to set them in a way that maybe just helps another generation sing the truth. So many great new songs out there too. Thanks for your comments.
Very well done Jon, I like it. I am going to present this to our team & see if they want to do it. Would you mind sending me the chart? Email is MustangsAndDrums@gmail.com
Thanks!

Thank you Matt! I sent you an email with the chart. Let me know how it goes if you end up using it in worship.
p.s. If anyone is interested, I made a video of lyrics and scripture to go with this song as well. You can check it out here:
