Default Long range throw on projector

We are looking for a projector that can throw 150-200 ft. from the back of our auditorium to one large suspended screen on the stage. Unfortunately, there is no other option for locating the projector closer to the projection area. Anyone have experience with a good projector with this type of throw?

From what I understand, most good projectors can do this, provided they are fitted with the proper lens. Be aware, those lenses often cost more than the projector.

What size of screen are you projecting onto? Also, are you projecting HD? I'll do some calculations for you and give you the proper projector specs and lens sizing. After that, it is just choosing which projector to go with! We use Christie exclusively, but there are a ton of great options out there that could handle your scenario.

You'll need a projector with at least 4000 lumens, more if possible. And you'll need a long throw lens. We have Eiki projector though I forget the model. The lens will set you back $1000 a piece. It's best to tell the company you're working with the exact dimensions that you will be facing. I've used All Pro Sound and they are fantastic! Excellent customer service! We've got either 400 or 450 lumens and throw about 175 feet (I can't remember exactly right now). We've never had a problem with sunlight making our image difficult to see. Give John Gentry a call at All Pro Sound. Just do a search and find their site online. I have no affiliation with them save the fact that I've used them ever since I first tried them and I've never been displease. They've beaten their competition in price and service. John will talk it over with you and help you pick exactly what will work for your circumstances. Hope it all works out!
