    Default Designing a worship center

Hope this is the right place to post this. We are in the planning stage of a new worship center. It will seat just under 300 folks. So.....if you were getting the chance to design a worship center, what would you like to see in it?????? Looking forward to some great ideas!!!

My only suggestion is that the first two people you hire are a sound engineer and a lighting engineer. You can have the prettiest, most comfortable space in the world, but unless people can hear and see clearly what you're communicating, it doesn't matter.

+1 to the above, and with the addition of room acoustics to the list. The best sound system in the world will still sound like crap in a room with terrible acoustics. Unfortunately, most churches don't realize just how important that is when they budget out for a new building. A little acoustic paneling will go a long ways towards eliminating a lot of sound issues.

Design for lightening and acoustics is very important. Our church is in the process of designing a new facility too. We are going to make our church environmentally friendly too. Both the inside and outside. We need to be good stewards of the Earth and what God has entrusted us to take care of.
