Default CCLI - Lead Sheet/ Original Key?

    Hey, guys!

I am a brand new worship leader for a small church, so I'm just now starting to play around in CCLI. So, the first lead sheet that pops up when you go to Song Select - is this the original key that the recording artist used in their recording? Or, this is some pre-determined "congregational friendly" key selected by CCLI? Just curious.... Thanks a ton!!!

Its been my experience that the key is not always congregational friendly. I believe the the charts represent the original key it was written in or recorded in.

I would think it's notated on CCLI in the key "AS PUBLISHED" by the copyright holder...

Yeah, it's definitely not a "pre-configured" key for congregation singing - it's the recorded, produced arrangement key.

It is definitely the original published key. Our church sings some songs higher, but the latest "trend" of recorded worship is just too high for most congregations I've been in.

It was a great day when SongSelect added the ability to transpose the music.

most other sites give a PDF in 1 key ... at best, give a choice of 3 keys to choose from, and that is it.
