We're beginning a new series on the life of Moses. I'm looking for a song to use throughout the series that relates either to Moses specifically or to some of the strong themes of his story like provision, obedience, etc.
Any ideas?
Nate
thinking out loud here:
There was a song many years back called the Song of Moses. If I remember correctly it probably wouldn't be of much use to you though. I don't know.
Also, there might be something to pull from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack? Maybe.
I know you're probably looking for something more specific and helpful but that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.
swing low .... sweet chariots ....![]()

Nate,
Yep, you're right, actually! How 'bout "When Moses went to Egypt Land ... Let My People Go" .. or the Ferris Beuller version, "When Cameron went ..."
Sorry, it's one of those mornings. I know you need a REAL answer.

Pharoah, pharoah...oooohhh...let my people go.
uh....I've still got nothing.
Indeed. I forgot about the Upton tune, Freedom. Pretty cool song.
I think you could tweak some cool arrangements.
The song with "let my people go..." as a lyric is called "Go Down Moses." It's a Louis Armstrong song, if I remember.
"Days of Elijah" mentions Moses as well.
"Show Me Your Glory" by Third Day is a great song relating to a specific time in the life of Moses. (Exodus 33) I think I would definitely use that.
There are also several modern versions of the Song of Moses (Deut 32.)
Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming!
"Show Me Your Glory" is a song we've used before and something I thought about to use when we talk about Moses encounter with God on the mountain.
