Default Less than Happy about PVP

We had a killer special planned for Sunday using a video with backing track fired from Pro Video Player. Then in pre-rehearsal the file kept losing frames or glitching creating pre-service havoc. We rebooted and it worked. This isn't the first time PVP has either dropped frames, frozen for a bit, etc.

Any tips? We don't run any other processes on the computer.

We have tons of RAM-6 gig I believe so it shouldn't be accessing much.

We love Pro-presenter to death, but Pro Video "Playa," we have mixed feelings on. We'll be calling them soon.

Hello worshiptrench... I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. We have our own forums to discuss these issues which is trafficked heavily by ProVideoPlayer users, but I suspect your problem is because of either compression, or too much data for the hard drive you are playing the video from. You said you had multiple tracks of audio... is it uncompressed? What is your compression for the Video?

I would suggest a reading of our FAQs, and if you desire, contact me directly at brad@renewedvision.com for specific support for your problem.

As volunteers in our own church, we hold church services in general in VERY high regard. I want to do whatever possible to make your Christmas program a raging success.

Thanks, but they use the same video engine so you shouldn't be having problems. We have raving fans of both products so we need to find out what's wrong with your particular installation.

Check your VidRAM and video card. Berad, being the guy who designed the software in the first place, is right, Pro and PVP use the same QUICKTIME based video engine. Often times the hardware of the computer or installed codecs can make the difference.

Test compressions for your computer. We use PVP in three rooms and h264 works fantastically in our Main on our Power Mac but not so much on the Intel iMacs in our other two theaters, we use Apple Lossless for graphics and Sorenson 3 for movies in there normally.

Also, try the videos IN Pro and Quicktime Player to see what happens. If you get the same glitches there you can go ahead and begin looking deeper than the control software.

Let us know what you find.

    -Hope this helps.

Our presentation software is Easy Worship but we had the same type of problems; at times it worked great to run video through but at other times it just didn't work at all and of course help lines are always closed on the weekends when you need them. We finally purchased a dedicated video player which runs independently and for a relatively small investment of a few hundred problems we now have no problems. It is also much easier to switch back to whatever we are doing on our computer presentation.

For Shizzle Hizzle. I have Chris in contact with them to work thru it. Hopefully a solution can be found.

This computer is NOT the same one we run pro-presenter on so they are never running in tandem. It is a dedicated PVP only computer.
