He's obviously very sick (mentally). I can't believe what he's saying in this interview is the truth. He's a life-long con artist and a lifelong addict. If you know anything about either of these types of personalities, you know that they can't be trusted at all. "From this day on, I'm telling the truth"...yeah...he's still conning, in my not so humble opinion.

He may be rehabilitated one day, but certainly not overnight, and this interview did more to further my poor opinion of him than anything else. He should have stayed very, very far away from any cameras for a very long time.

BTW, be sure that I'm still praying for him and everyone who was hurt by him. I do pray that one day he is "healed" from this and that trust in him, especially from those close to him (because, really, my opinion doesn't mean squat here), is restored.

He seemed sorry for his actions to me. I think for him to confess about the pornagraphy addiction was very humbling. Only time will tell whether or not this is true repentance, but, he doesn't seem like a pathological liar to me. It seems like he is just a guy who got caught up in covering his sin and then over time found that his lies could do more than cover up his sin, they could make him money and success!

For him to get right, first he is going to have to deal with the pornagraphy issue, then, deal with the lying if it is still an issue. I have found a lot of people who are habitual liars are able to tame it quickly once there is some accountability and the core issue is addressed. For him to fess up and come clean means that lying is probably a symptom not a cause...does that make sense?

    Honest question:

Is there any way that a mod can create a space on this site for honest, open (and closely moderated) discussion about this situation? There are so many penetrating repercussions to this story. I don't want to spend time bashing Mike (I've said my piece), but I do think that a moderated discussion could be beneficial.

    If not, I totally understand.

    Thanks.

Nate, has there been a problem with the conversations so far?

Not at all. But, I have some questions and thoughts in my head, and, if I posted them without any pre-arranged parameters for discussion (more-so than what is already established here, I think), it would probably create some controversy, which I don't want.

On second thought, just ignore my last few comments.

I hate to see you not discuss them for fear of upsetting someone. I posted my reactions to the whole thing in retrospect today on my blog. Feel free to comment over there if you don't want to here.
