    Default Worship Blunder

Well, of course yesterday was Sunday. I was sick (first time in 2 yrs) so I got another lady to lead out some songs that were too high for me to sing. She did a great job, but my wireless Aviom battery died in the middle of service. I couldnt hear a thing. I didnt even know if i was on key. well i knew that i was leading the last song so i figured that i should get a battery.

So I moved over to the side to motion for the sound man, huge distraction

then when he come to the front to replace it, he dropped it. It was soooo loud and then we both fumbled around to retreive as its bouncing all over the stage.

Being off key wouldve been better. How did everyone else's service go yesterday?

I had a pretty bad blunder yesterday as well. Basically I forgot to call for the offering. We'll usually have the offering before the last song, right before the message. Well, I forgot and so as we were stepping off the stage the ushers came forward and I realized what I'd done. I did the whole sheepish, "oops, I forgot to call for the offering....let's pray."

The whole band had stepped down and I figured the pastor would step to the pulpit and make a joke or something....nope. Just about 3 minutes of awkward silence.

That's why our pianist always has something in her notebook to play incase something like that comes up.

On another hand, we had battery issues this Wednesday actually. The youth pastor had a wireless lapel mic and it was making static sounds and stuff, and the sound guy motioned down to us that the battery was going dead. I happened to have one, so (me being on stage and the pastor on the floor in front of it right before worship) when he turned around I handed him a battery. It could of been subtle, but he had to say, "Why do I need that for, can't you hear me?" Lol!!! All the youth said, "static!" Oh well, sometimes it works out in fun.

Yeah, my pianist said afterwards, "I was thinking about stepping back up and playing during the offering. But I wasn't sure I should."

They took it out of my pay, but since I'm a volunteer it wasn't that bad.
