Family heartbreak

Hey guys,

My younger brother is a guitarist/bassist for the praise and worship team at my church. He's by far one of the most if not the most skilled musician on our squad and that I say with substantive reason (not merely because he's my blood)

He's been participating with the team less and less. This past Saturday we had an all important mandatory meeting that he skipped out on. The details for his absence are murky and I'm mulling over releasing him from the "team obligations" It's not easy for me because first, he's my family, second, I'd be losing a very knowledgeable and experienced member and lastly his lack of interest in the group I fear will prove detrimental to the others.

He tearfully told me one night that he's depressed and I believe he's leading a self-destructive lifestyle. I'm trying to be there for him as much as I can but he's usually busy in his matters and I've also been praying. I feel if anyone else could help me in this prayerful effort I'd be grateful to you. Thank you whoever you are reading this.

Hi Ronaldo,

I know that right now you are torn between the ministry and the family. That is a hard spot to be in. I do suffer from depression, however, what I have found works for me is clinging to Him the only way I know how to - through worshiping Him, using the gifts that He has given me. He needs the support of a good team that loves him for where he is at with no questions.

Here is a good verse:
col 3:
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The root of the spirit of depression is the spirit of heaviness, so in your prayers go in and begin pulling down the spirit of heaviness.

Isaiah 61:1-4

1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Father in the name of Jesus we bind the spirit of mourning and the spirit of heaviness and command all of the fruit (associates of these spirits) to dry up at the root in Jesus name!

According to Your word in Matthew 18:18, we loose the beauty of ashes, the oilt of joy for mourning and the garments of praise for the spirit of heaveness, thanking you that Ronaldo's brother is a tree of righteousness that has been planted by the Lord, for the Lord that the Lord might be glorified!

Thank You for the current circumstances in his life, the source of the distraction that contributing to the lack of interest. Thank You for applying the blood of Jesus to every area of his heart, mind, his emotions and releasing Your miracle healing power in the matchless name of Jesus, of which every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, hallelujah, hallelujah, amen!

Isiah 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

I'm standing on Isaiah 54:17, no weapons formed against him shall prosper!

I can't say that I understand what you are experiencing but I can say that this too shall pass and your brother is going to be so much stronger, so much wiser and he is going to come forth as pure gold because God has a purpose, God has a plan!

Ronaldo, regardless of what it looks like brother in Christ, stay in agreement with the word and continue praying the word over your brothers life because God is truly watching over His WORD!
