Default Newbie here!!!

Hi everyone, new here. As I mentioned in my post in another section, I am the audio technician for my church, as well as a local theater.

I came in search for answers to some technical questions I have, but I'll save those for other posts.

Here's alittle bit about myself. I've been doing the sound at church and the theater for about a year or so. Until then I have no no experience with running a sound board, hadn't even seen one in person till then. The reason I started, was because we got a new system installed at church, but there wasn't really anyone to run it. My pastor came to me, and asked if it would be something I'd be interested in doing, and I said sure, I can give it a shot. I wasn't REAL excited about it, but I knew if I didn't no one else would. However once I started, I fell in love with it! A couple weeks after I started, A friend of my moms came in to deliver coats for our coat drive, and we got to talking, and I found out she ran the board at the local theater, and she invited me down to the next practice, to learn some stuff. It turned out that she wasn't really suppose to be the MAIN sound person, she was assistant director and backup sound person, but the previous guy had gotten a full time job DJing somewhere, and had left her as the only one who knew anything. I kinda started as her backup after that, but to make a long story short, due to some issues during the show, I had been left doing it solo during show night. Afterwards, her and the director where so impressed that they nominated me to take over as the official sound guy, and let her take back her real job as assistant director!

I love doing it, and I really love being apart of the theater! I've made some really good friends, and has been a bigger blessing to me then I could ever put into words! I feel this has been a calling from God, cuz, if you ever heard the story that led up to all this, Only he could have brought me here, and I thank him every chance I get for this incredible blessing!

I really want to take a few courses to learn more about it, I've been givin a talent for it by God, I can pick alot of things up on the fly, but I lack experience, and there is ALOT that I still don't know. Hopefully I can learn some of those things here!
