Does your church use lots of home-grown "visual aids" (PPT, Graphics, Poster, etc.)?* Feel free to share them here.

You can view some of ours here:

Got some of ours up here (http://picasaweb.google.com/hojruss).

I'm not a pro by any means, but it's the area (along with music) that I'm responsible for here at House of Joy.

I'm liking what I've seen so far from you guys! Keep up the good work!

I really like you "Connection" graphic. Did you build that yourself? I might steal it. Our small groups are called "connection groups".

I did "build" it in-house. Grabbed a random chair, a puzze clip art, and ran some filters on them and voila. Unfortunately I don't have it in layers, or else I'd shoot the background to you without the text. Doh!

that's cool. I'll just have to build my own.

Chris I think I should get creative credit on that Happily Ever After logo. I am glad you put some of that stuff on there though.

Can you guys mention the software that you're using (PC and/or Mac).

We use Adobe Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3, and InDesign CS3. All of which run on both PC and Mac though we use Macs exclusively.

At SSCC, for graphics, Chris uses mostly Photoshop CS3, I use Photoshop some and Illustrator CS3 a good bit. All on Mac here. Chris's work usually goes to print while mine usually goes into After Effects or Final Cut for video.

I should have noted that Chris had already responded. haha

Also, list any resources you use for inspiration and material. For example, I use iStockPhoto.com for a lot of stuff.

We also use iStockPhoto for many of our stock photos. Some things people don't know of are:

StockXChange (www.sxc.hu) offers completely free stock photos. We use this site primarily.
iStockPhoto (www.istock.com) offers a free image of the week and keeps the last 3 weeks available.
Crestock (https://www.crestock.com/free-image.aspx) has a free image of the day.
Shutterstock (www.shutterstock.com) has a free image and free vector of the week.

There is also the Church Marketing Lab (http://flickr.com/groups/cfcc/) in flickr. It's a share and comment community. I love browsing and commenting and getting ideas.

I'm the web geek for our church, so the graphics work I do is for the website. I use sxc.hu and develop around the images. I often try to get shots taken by people in the church as well to use.

I develop the graphics using TheGimp (www.gimp.org) since I can't afford the other graphics software packages. It might take a little learning up front, but I don't have many complaints and have gotten quite comfortable with the tools it provides.
