I'm sitting here, I'm thinking back to a time when I was young,
My memory is clear as day, I'm listening to the dishes clink,
You were downstairs, you would sing songs of praise,
And all the times we laughed with you,
And all the times that you stayed true to us,
Now we say, I said, I thank you,
I'll always thank you, More than you could know,
Than I could ever show, And I love you, I'll always love you,
There's nothing I won't do to say these words to you,
That you're beautiful forever, you were my mom, you were my dad,
The only thing I ever had was you, It's true,
And even when the times got hard you were there,
To let us know that we'd get through, you showed me how to be a man,
You taught me how to understand the things people do,
You showed me how to love my God, You taught me that not everyone knows the truth,
And I thank you, I'll always thank you,
More than you could know, Than I could ever show,
And I love you, I'll always love you, There's nothing I won't do to say these words to you,
That you will live forever, always

You know, there's always the good old standard "Mama" by Boyz II Men. Now if that one won't send shivers down the old spine, I don't know what will. In fact, on that note, I'm going to look for my old B2M albums.

How about the songs by Eminem or Tupac, that talk about Moms...

ROFL!
I can just see them doing Eminem's rap about his mom. They might get struck by a plague or swallowed up into the ground for that...

I tried to find "Let it Be" by the Beatles on iTunes and couldn't find their rendition, but found covers from John Denver, Anne Murray, etc ...

Well, an oldie but a goldie...
Mother, by Danzig, I had it in highschool. I believe the album was called: Thrall-Demonsweatlive. I am not sure if you would need to alter the lyrics for a church service or not. Your call...

We are doing Bohemian Rhapsody...good stuff about mom's. And the first 100 mom's get a gold plated Colt .45....pretty cool huh (you guys are some jaded suckers...glad i fit in)
Mamma
just killed a man
put a gun against his head
pulled my trigger now he's dead
Mamma
life had just begun
but now i've gone and thrown it all away
Mamma! Oooohhh
didn't mean to make you cry
if i'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on carry on
as if nothing really matters
Too late
my time has come
sends shivers down my spine
body's aching all the time
Good bye everybody
I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mamma! Ooooohhh (anyway the wind blows)
i don't wanna die
sometimes wish i'd never been born at all

Oh my - reminds me of my old 'hard-core' radio show days back in the early 90's...
