Hey everyone,

I have been in my position for 8 months, almost 9. I was thrown into the position of "media guy." Anyone who knows about this position knows there is way more to it than it seems. You aren't just the sound guy, the computer guy, the lighting guy, the video guy..... and ya, you get the idea, you are all combined, well at least at my church for the moment. I am only 15, I am a volunteer, so all for the glory of God.

Well, this is what is going on...
Our church called new leadership 12 weeks ago. We called our long needed, pastor. He has hired his staff of, a children's pastor, worship pastor, student pastor, and a few other positions. He is fully supportive of me and is very happy with what I am doing. Some of the staff he has hired, he has actually rehired from the past. They have changed a little but there are still things about them that make them extremely hard to work with and even harder to trust. I was at dinner with them tonight and the student pastor tells the worship pastor, you got to get a sound guy in the board and get him out into the youth.

I understand that I should be in youth, "be a kid." But I have felt called to this position, I have a passion for it and I use it to worship and glorify God.

I am worried about what will happen and if I will be told to step down because I am "too young" (I was told the other day I was too young and not on staff so an older gentleman who left the church would not listen to me.) I am asking for prayer to give me guidance and wisdom and the courage to speak to my pastor about the situation. Any advice or replies would be great. Thank you for reading. (I type way too much.)

I wiull be praying for you, but I think the best thing to do is to talk to the youth pastor first, share your heart and why you feel the way you do. If that doesn't work and you feel you were as honest and real as you could be with them, then I would go to the senior pastor. I would definitely not go to the senior pastor first, as this could appear you were "going over the youth pastor's head" and could cause additional problems or issues there. It's always important to follow the chain of authority.

Let me know how things are going.
