1. Central Passage
- That's the amazing thing - that this majestic, powerful, omnipotent God desires and seeks out a relationship with us! He is our God, not that we own Him, or He's no one else's God, but that we have a relationship with Him - Our Father. He is a faithful God, and His relationship with us is "completely permanent", like a Father with a child. That's a great reminder! His holiness is another reason we know He is our God, and He is faithful to make us holy. We are to approach Him in holiness. His mercy - how many times has God held back judgment on me? Wow - that's a humbling questions. Way too many times!

2. My Daily Praise
- Thank You, Lord, for the relationship I have with You! I still find it amazing that You would love us so much that you would assign the job of taking the punishment for my sins to Your Son, Jesus. Thank you that because of that, I can be in this close relationship with You! Your love is amazing!

3. My Daily Surrender
- Lord, thank You that I am a child of Yours - cleansed and forgiven.

Happy Thanksgiving. One of the things I am thankful for this year is this Pure Praise study, and all of you who are participating in it with me.

(I accidentally put this on the day 4 page, so I moved it here where it belongs.)

Central passages
I thank the Lord for his faithfulness. I think his faithfulness is the relational side of his immutability. Because God never changes, he cannot be unfaithful.
I can look back at my life and see his faithfulness over and over again. And I know I can trust him today because of how he has been faithful in the past.

Somehow I think God's holiness is one of his transcendent qualities; only God is holy.Only he is sinless and perfect. I understand that the Bible tells me that I am to be holy, also, but quite honestly, I can't quite see it happening. Except that through the blood of Jesus, my sins are forgiven, and Jesus intercedes for me, and in that sense I am holy.

God's mercy is such a good thing! If he treated me as I deserve, I would have been dead long ago. Thank you, Lord, for holding back your judgment on me.

Daily Praise
Thank you, Father, for loving me. Thank you that you made it possible for me to have a relationship with you. Thank you that when I sin against you, you have provided a way for me to get back on your right side. Thank you for your unending faithfulness. thank you for being holy, and for making it possible for me to be holy, too. Thank you for your incredible mercy that has caused you to spare me what I deserve time after time.

Daily Surrender
Lord God, I confess that I don't love you nearly as much as I should. I confess that I fail to hold up my side of the relationship you have established.
Chang my heart, O God, and give me an unending desire to become more and more like you.

Central Passages:
As I was reading this day’s study, Lamentations 3:22-23 came to mind, “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Each morning we wake up, we are given a new mercy because the Lord has withheld his judgment another day! Another breath, another mercy! I was also reminded of Christ’s lesson about judging others. When we judge others (write them off as being set a certain way), we are judging ourselves as well. Reserving judgment is a way of extending mercy. I would like to show mercy as Christ has shown mercy to me.

My Daily Praise:
Lord, I can never keep track with how many times you withheld your judgment from me. I can recall multiple times that I have attempted to walk away from you when I was younger, and you maintained our faithfulness to me. Now that I am older, I can look back on your faithfulness and never want to go back to my rebellious ways again.

My Daily Surrender:
Lord, I must confess I sometimes walk dangerously close to judging others when pressed in difficult circumstances. When I find myself in that territory, I find it difficult to express mercy. Please teach me to walk in mercy better than I have been, and see potential in others the way you see them. Thank you for new mercies every morning, and thank you for your patience with my growth and refining. You are indeed great!
