Worship Community...
Fred McKinnon asked me to post this here cause he thought it might be pertinent to folks. I had originally posted this message to the Worship List email forum where Fred saw it and replied to me. Hope some of you find it helpful.
Folks,
I know that many of you are making decisions each day regarding
technology as it relates to worship and music in your local churches.
One of the things that is great about a group like this is that it can
be a great voice of experience for those of us looking for advice before
we make some purchase, commit to a direction or use a technology/product
that might cost a lot.
In that vein, I wanted to let folks here know that there is currently a
FREE worship seminar that is going on. It actually began back on June
12 and runs clear through the end of August, with two sessions done each
week. The sessions are done both online (via a website broadcast) and
actually via a phone tele-conference. All the sessions are completely
without cost, and you don't have to worry if you miss a session, because
ALL the sessions are available in an online archive (with both audio and
presentation notes). The conference has a number of well known speakers
and teachers (20 of them) that each speak on a topic meant to help local
church leaders. You can learn all about it at :
http://www.worshipteleseminar.com/
Again, its no cost, has no limitations for people joining online and is not advertising driven.
The reason I mentioned it here is because of the particular topic that I
am going to share on tonight is precisely on worship and technology. It
is called "Worship & Technology: Strategic Decisions Focused on
Worship". It might be of help some of you who want a few steps or
process to help you with evaluating technology and deciding what will
work, and how to approach using (any) technology in your local church.
I am hoping it will be a bit of common sense for those who are facing
decisions about technology, budgets and such.
