Hey guys-

Just a quick note: I am a huge advocate of trying to provide resources to volunteers that serve in our ministries at our local churches. For some of us, it's a great way to pour into, and help build up the people who serve in our ministry, but don't get paid. Every year, I lead a team of people to the WILLOW CREEK ARTS CONFERENCE in Chicago. This is a 2.5 day conference, centered around great worship (let by David Crowder Band), awesome speakers (the authors of Blue like Jazz[I] and [I]The emerging church, and other great speakers. On top of that, there are over 100 classes you can take that range from drama, to dance, to band, to vocals, to everything technical, to programming, to teaching, to songwriting, and everything in between. It's a great chance to build up your team, spend some time together, and just get away. If you have the time and money, I would strongly encourage you to look into the conference. This is my 3rd year going, and every year I am blown away by Willow, and the conference experience. Check out the link, and let me know if you have any questions.

Willow Creek gets a bad rap from some folks, but you can't argue with excellence, to be sure. Pastor Rick Warren and crew have built a phenomenally successful ministry and are touching lives, and if I COULD go to this conference, I would.

Adam -

We're going to try and go - myself, Travis, Deb .. maybe Chris - not sure - Travis was heading that up - I think it was gonna be over $3K for us to all attend, so we were gonna pitch that AFTER easter!

Ummm ...quick point of order.

Willow Creek [near Chicago] is Bill Hybels's. I do their [WCA's] Leadership Summit every year and they are awesome. The Arts Conference is a dream that will come "one day."

Saddleback is Rick Warren...and they're in California.

don't have any plans to attend conferences, but my brother and sister-in-law are active in their church's worship ministry, and she keeps asking me when we're going to put together a retreat for our worship teams, plus any others we can think of. i think it's a great idea, but can't seem to overcome inertia.

does anyone do something like that -- get the teams from various churches together for a retreat, just because you love each other?
