Hello all!

I must admit - I did post once before this intro!

I am about to graduate with my BA in fine arts this summer. I'll probably go into graphic design (unless Dad in heaven has a different idea!) I'm 43 (on April 7th) have four kids (from my 1st marriage) and have found a second chance the wonderful man I am married to now for seven years. God has done a MIGHTY work in both of us and I will never stop singing His praises!

I am a worship leader in the Church of the Nazarene in Massapequa Park, Long Island, NY. We average about 150-175 in attendance each Sunday. I play rhythm guitar and I prefer acoustic. I have an old Takamine which I hardly use since I got my Taylor!!! This past Christmas my husband gave me a retro tellecaster. (Light blue with flowers) I had admired it in the store but never thought he would buy it for me! I love the blues, but I'm having a hard time making the transition from acoustic to electric. I strum too hard and press the strings so hard that I sometimes bend them and it sounds out of tune which I HATE!

I am crazy about Jesus and I love encouraging others to think about Him in a new, deeper way ... to stop just going through the motions, as we all fall into sometimes, and think about how awesome our Savior really is. I hope and pray for Holy Spirit revival ... starting in my own heart and spreading to my family, my community, my state, my country, the world!!!

I love communicating with people who share my passion for our awesome God. I am grateful for all the other people who are following the Lord, where ever they are. It's a blessing and a comfort to me to know we are in this together. I look forward to getting to know every one.

Peace be with you!

...the ole transition phase from acoustic to electric.

Fun parts: easy to finger and rif; lots of sound options from the amp; can finally be heard over the Clavanova :); bending strings is easy.

Not-so-fun:

TUNING!!! fixed bridges are easiest, but floating bridges definitely cause that problem when using a capo or fingering higher than the 6th fret.

Fingering...press too hard and you're sharp...ugh! Tune wrong and you're sharp...double ugh! Floating bridge in the wrong place...who knows what you might be...?

Keep trying and experimenting, ask others...have fun!

I'm starting with a finger slider which really adds character to southern blues and even a few praise songs. Talk about frustrating!!!

You're not too far from me, and in fact, between my mom on LI and me in Westchester. I'm new to the forum, and looking forward to networking with worshipers both near and far!

Hi Kathy!

I've been working retreats all over the place ... and Easter being early didn't help me ... so I haven't been online much - e-mail getting unmanageable! But I just wanted to say hello. I don't know where your Mom lives on Long Island, but if it's anywhere near Massapequa, drop by the Massapequa Park Church of the Nazarene, 65 Roosevelt Ave. Massapequa Park. Sunday morning service is at 11:00 and evening at 7:00.

May we truly be amazed by God's grace today!
